I’ve been taking a class on back lighting for both indoors and outdoors and decided to practice in our bathroom again because honestly it gets the best light in the house with those two giant windows over the tub. That and it’s easy to catch the girls being happy in a natural environment. They normally aren’t big on doing anything but burying their heads when my camera comes out.
I’ve been working very hard at this little hobby lately. Friends are coming from all over asking me to take pictures for their families so I’ve begun to entertain the idea of maybe doing it part-time in the future. After building a reasonable portfolio that is.
So dear friends reading…
I know there are some of you out there who care enough about us to follow us on this blog. I’m looking for people to help me build a portfolio. I will take you, your family or your children’s pictures for free. I can’t have a portfolio with only my kids in it! The only thing I ask is that you A) give me honest feedback. I need this to grow. B) Understand I’m learning still and your pictures may not look like those of a local photographer and C) Allow me to use these images in my professional portfolio.
Oh and no weddings. I will do just about anything BUT weddings.
So you’ll see lots of pictures in the future. More than usual. This blog has been my way to document our journey through parenthood for the last 3 years and that will not change. I’m just going to also be documenting some progress on my journey to pursuing one of my dreams. Being a photographer. Lucky for you, it’s photography and not piano that I’m pursuing. (That’s my other dream)
There’s no greater gift I can give myself than doing something I have always wanted to do while freezing moments of innocence in my darling little girls.
They may never reach professional quality but they will always be sacred to me.
Thanks for reading (and looking)!
Help me name my business! Send me some ideas!
For the love of…
Blankie on a sick day.
Winnie the Pooh band aids.
And sisters that play together.
Happy Valentine’s Day.
We don’t have an iPad so this is my first attempt at our token picture of the children looking at a technology device in a dark room.
Just the first attempt of many I’m sure. One day I’ll get one I love.
By the way, Charlotte’s ear infection never cleared. We’re on another set of antibiotics now. Hopefully that explains why she’s been so different lately. And why Brian & I have a lot more headaches these days..
